Create Your Own Reference Numbers

James Ainsworth -

The reference numbers on an incident may at first seem like a simple number that works its way upward as new requests are raised. However, in Hornbill you are able to construct your own reference numbers to give them more meaning or personalize them for your business.

From within the Hornbill Administration you are able to build a reference number by stringing together a number of supplied components which can include a simple value that increases with each new record. or it may be today’s date, the ID of the support person, or even information held in the database.

Sequencing numbers that reset daily, weekly, monthly or annually can also give you an instant view of how many requests have been raised so far during the selected time period.

With just a few simple clicks you can construct your own reference IDs and give them your own personal touch.
