Job Description

If you answered "yes" to all of the above, then the current opening at Hornbill Technologies may be the job for you.Hornbill is looking to recruit a tech-savvy person to join its ISO 27001 certified cloud operation. You will either be a graduate or someone with relevant experience in a similar role, and will join our expanding team of talented and highly experienced engineers. The role, which is based at Hornbill's headquarters in Ruislip, includes medium term, one-to-one mentoring and support giving you an amazing career opportunity to work for a progressive technology company. You will have the opportunity to develop new skills and attain real live experience in cloud systems development, live global operations, as well as software quality, integration and validation all under the guidance (where required) and support of seasoned and experienced professionals.

Primary Duties

  • Writing scripts to deploy software on our cloud servers
  • Contributing towards the development and deployment of proactive monitoring tools
  • Providing customers with first-rate support, both by phone, by email and self service
  • Investigating and replicating customer issues
  • Testing software prior to its deployment in the cloud

You have

  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of one of more scripting languages
  • Ability to create and execute testplans
  • Quality and customer focus running through your veins
  • Good communication skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • A can-do approach
  • Able to pick up new ideas quickly
  • Good team player
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies

You may also have

  • Ability to troubleshoot server and network problems
  • Knowledge of MySQL, Apache and PHP
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies such as KVM or Xen
  • IT Networking
