A roundup of SITS 2024

The UK's biggest Service Desk and ITSM show is done and dusted for another year. As ever, this year's SITS event at London Excel was buzzing. There were new vendors and new faces. New stand gimmicks everywhere to draw people in. And even a few beers. But what remained the same was the many, many one-to-one conversations between practitioners (and with vendors) that really make the event. It's the sharing of ideas that continues to draw people to SITS. And it's a great way to see the state of the service management tech market in one place.

The MSP Show

The big difference this year was the inclusion of The MSP Show. With a larger overall event space this year, the new MSP Show area was bolted on to the side of the main SITS event. With around 30 stands representing firms that offer a wide variety of tools and services for Managed Service Providers. The MSP Show area was as busy as the main SITS area, so I can see this growing over the next few years. On top of that, there was a MSP Show theatre with it's own dedicated MSP presentation track. Most of the sessions were either full, or overflowing.

AITSM

"AI-powered" was one of the big buzz words on and around the stands. 11 out of the 61 seminars were focused on AI, but I'm sure that many others would at least have touched on AI as a topic. The Hornbill team were certainly busy demoing prospects on our new suite of AI-driven tools for service desk agents.

Seminar presentations

Speaking of seminars, our own Pat Bolger's co-presentation with Adam Toms of Wessex Water pulled the highest attendance of the show. Yet again, it proves that what people really want to see at SITS is customers talking about their challenges and how they solved them.

Next year's SITS is already in the calendar. Although this year's event was in April, SITS 2025 will be moving back to closer to where it used to be in mid-May: 14th and 15th May. Still at the London Excel. We look forward to meeting you there!
