Job Description

We’re looking for an analytically-minded web development ninja to join our Marketing team. As well as being able to demonstrate fundamental HTML/CSS development skills, you will play a significant role in bridging the gap between creative and infrastructure/backend teams, bringing creative marketing initiatives to life in the digital domain. You will have ideally worked with marketing teams doing website development/email templates, landing pages and so on, while not entirely mandatory this would be distinctly advantageous.Hornbill is in the process of re-inventing our entire marketing approach, with a significant focus on digital marketing, driving innovation in marketing and growth hacking initiatives. Primary Duties

  • You will have domain expertise in UI/UX best practices, especially with regards to website interactions.
  • You will be a problem solver, with everything you develop focused on improving the visitor experience to drive user interaction and sales conversations.
  • You will collaborate with marketing teammates, senior management, designers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Proactively scope and present new ideas to improve our website experience for prospects, leads, and customers.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Competent in HTML5/CSS.
  • HTML email, including good knowledge of best practices for the same.
  • JavaScript (jQuery, native DOM or other frameworks)
  • CMS systems (HubSpot COS ideally, but any CMS/marketing automation tools are cool too)
  • Used to working with marketing initiatives that require A/B testing and frequent changes.
  • Modern box-based CSS frameworks (for example Bootstrap etc…)
  • Comfortable with responsive design targeting multiple platforms/devices
  • Image manipulation/ optimization using Photoshop or other such tools

Other

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience, we are big on people that can do the job, a degree is helpful also.
  • Comfortable/competent working with marketing data in spreadsheets and databases, including some basic SQL ability.
  • Working with components and external web services API’s
  • Back-end PHP basic working knowledge
  • AJAX and HTTP related protocols, understanding, and knowledge
