Gerry Sweeney
Founder, Group CEO & CTO of Hornbill TechnologiesGerry founded Hornbill in 1995 and has been responsible for the
architecture, design and planning of the products and technologies
that form the core of Hornbill's solutions today. He has led the
company through continuous year on year growth and profitability,
expanding its operations to North America in 2004 and Asia in
2005.
Gerry has over 20 years experience in the IT service and support
industry, fifteen years of which has been software related. Prior
to his time at Hornbill, Gerry held various positions as
consultant, IT & Helpdesk Manager, software and electronics
engineering, gaining significant technical and commercial
experience with many aspects of IT operations, global
infrastructure, application development and emerging
technologies.
Paul Davis
Development ManagerPaul is responsible for software development at Hornbill
Technologies which include our flagship Enterprise Support
Platform, our own documentation systems and our corporate web site.
Alongside product delivery, he is focused on improving team
performance and product quality through the CMMI process
improvement model.
Paul brought 20 years experience developing and delivering
mission-critical software solutions when joining Hornbill in 2009
from Aspect Software, a global provider of unified communications
and collaboration services and software. In addition to 10 years in
management roles leading international development projects and
teams, Paul has also held positions as Product Manager and
Principal Engineer.
Dr. Paul Boca
Quality Engineering ManagerPaul graduated from Queen Mary, University of London with a PhD
in Computer Science, specializing in the field of program
correctness. He began his career as a software research scientist
at Sharp Laboratories in Oxford, researching and developing tools
for compiling C/C++ code to hardware. Paul continued this work at
an SME before moving into a technical management role at
Programming Research Ltd., responsible for delivery and quality of
their static analysis tools for coding standard enforcement and bug
catching. In 2009, he joined Hornbill as Quality Engineering
Manager, tasked with driving and implementing quality initiatives
throughout the platform development group.
Paul has had a long standing interest in producing correct software
and promotes good practice to a wider audience through a series of
seminars he helps organize. He co-edited a book based on the seminars, which was published in
2010 by Springer.
When Paul is not thinking about software quality and defect
prevention, he enjoys running.
